About the Role
This position drives business resilience in West Africa through the provision of expert advice to the Country Manager Senegal and business leaders in support of regional operations and through the management of activities within the Security & Emergency Management and Legal disciplines (security, emergency & crisis management, business continuity, hydrocarbon spill preparedness and anti-fraud & corruption).
This position reports directly to the Regional Manager S&EM Americas & Africa and indirectly to the Senegal Country Manager to deliver services in support of the company’s activities in West Africa.
Duties & Responsibilities
Assist the Vice President, S&EM and the Country Manager Senegal to achieve the best possible security and emergency management preparedness and outcomes for Woodside.
Prevent, detect and respond in accordance with corporate procedures to security, business ethics and emergency management risks.
Ensure contractors in West Africa adhere to Woodside’s Security and EM Procedures and related expectations.
Assist in the provision of guidance and support to staff in relation to existing responsibilities.
Promote a safe workplace for all staff and contractors.
Lead logistical support for Woodside visitors to West Africa.
Promote business continuity through management of Senegal Office critical infrastructure.
Skills & Experiences
Experience with complex Security and Emergency management matters in a dynamic, culturally and linguistically diverse environment.
Application of security, emergency management and anti-fraud & corruption legislation and methodologies to prevent fraud and corruption events impacting on Woodside.
Experience building, maintaining and leveraging key external stakeholders across governments and industry.
Deep understanding of the relevant threat environment versus risk, and proportionate mitigations required.
Experience operating within a sensitive and highly confidential work environment.
Unwavering personal integrity with the ability to coach and guide while holding the line when required.
Ability to lead teams and lead integrated planning.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational and negotiation skills.
Skilled in developing high level operational integration strategies and resource plans in remote locations.
Application of relevant HSE standards and procedures.
Ability to multitask in a complex environment.
Experience in planning and coordination operation support for material/personnel movements.
Has a global mindset with high degree of cultural sensitivity and adaptability to understand and embrace local laws, regulations and customs including VPSHR framework.
Experience in development and presentation of training and awareness programs to diverse groups.
Demonstrated ability to write, evaluate and assess contractual and tender documents.
Familiarity with Woodside’s IT network applications including case management system.
High level of personal resilience and adaptability.
A minimum of intermediate (B) level French language is essential.
Fluent in English language is mandatory.
